研究方向:
Three centuries ago, a group of renowned physicists made surprising observations that sound waves could generate steady flows in fluids and organize particles in space. These phenomena remained unexplained for decades until Lord Rayleigh skillfully pioneered a perturbative approach to model the nonlinear effects of acoustic waves. However, acoustofluidics, plagued by intractable calculations, remained a hidden treasure of fundamental physics for the next two centuries.
The recent progress in computing capabilities have triggered a renaissance in the field of acoustofluidics. It is now possible to taylor acoustic fields with an exquisite precision and hence control fluid and particles motion at the smallest scale.
